Get Know Us

Ella Kernkamp

I spent my younger days with my goats, horses, chickens, ducks, and any other animals I could get my hands on. Being raised among so many boys, I definitely embraced the tomboy lifestyle, often opting for my brother's hand-me-downs and crying at the thought of wearing a dress. Though my fashion tastes have since evolved, I still find comfort in my boyish style, which I aim to bring to Miss Cowboy.

Over the past five years, I've fortunately been able to travel all around the world for modeling and still continue to do so. Recently I relocated to Texas with my cowboy beau to focus more on my life with horses. Inspired by my own struggle to find affordable access to horses and a good equestrian crew, I co-founded Miss Cowboy Club to create the kind of horse community I wished I'd had growing up. With a deep belief in the therapeutic power of horses, I hope I can be a helping hand to those who want to make horses a part of their life.

Growing up, I had two passions in life; fashion, and animals. I would have done anything to have a horse, but the closest I could get was my Western Barbie and her dream horse Dallas, and an entire heard of My Little Ponies.

It wasn’t until I grew up, moved to California, and met my future husband, who just happened to be a cowboy, that I was finally able to live out my horse-girl dream life. Inspired by my own desire for so long to connect with horses, and wanting to share the joy of these amazing animals with as many others as possible, Brian and I opened High Horse Malibu, a ranch where anyone can come ride horses and immerse themselves in the incredible beauty Malibu had to offer.

Now living full time in Texas with my husband and our son Wyatt, I’m finally able to merge my love of fashion and horses, in the hopes of bringing a little horse magic into your life too.
